Khabar Lahariya (KL) is India's only digital news agency run by Dalit women. Founded in 2002 as a print magazine, it has since become a powerful digital news channel. Armed with their smartphones, chief reporter Meera and her female colleagues break with tradition when it comes to the big issues in India, but equally at home, redefining what it means to have media power. Their video reports on corruption, violence against women, broken roads and inadequate public health care are called up thousands of times, much to the disconcertment of the big, male-led media.
