Varaham
In a South Indian village, a deaf-mute outsider does unskilled labour. When the village patriarch rapes and kills an underage girl, he is the only witness. He kills the tormentor and thus becomes the prime suspect in the eyes of the village community. Varaham (boar), the third incarnation of Vishnu, symbolizes prehistoric power structures in Indian villages, which seem hardly defeatable without courageous activism.
