Max, Min & Meowzaki
Frankfurtpremiere
Dumped by Min after a three year relationship, fur-allergic Max discovers family, friendship and love while caring for Min’s cat Meowzaki, named after the Anime legend Hayao Miyazaki - whose films feed Max’s romantic idealism.
Max is left behind in their shared flat with Min's cat Meowzaki, named after the Japanese anime legend Hayao Miyazaki - and his pronounced allergy to cat hair. The death of his mother hits him all the harder and deeper in this situation. Max's father Ramesh, a successful businessman, also struggles with the loss of his wife and his frosty relationship with his only son. Ramesh unexpectedly decides to undergo therapy. Max meets the humorous cat-sitter Carol, with whom a light-hearted friendship develops. Surprisingly, Carol's grandmother and Max's grandfather live in the same retirement home and are good friends. Three charming, serious, but also funny and emotional journeys. A film about loss and deep feelings, but also humour and hope.
